Dinan is a small riverside town located in Brittany, north-west France. It's known for its 13th-14th century castle and medieval ramparts, which still surround the charming old town. From the attractive port, you can make your way up narrow cobblestone streets, like the one in our photo, which are lined by half-timbered houses and filled with art galleries and craft shops. For great views over Dinan and the surrounding countryside, climb up the 158 steps to the top of the town's 40-metre-high clock tower. It will be worth the effort.
