Blue as far as the eye can see. World Reef Awareness Day

Australia's Great Barrier Reef, the largest reef in the world, runs for 2,300 kilometres along the country's rugged coast. A vast range of marine life, including whales, dolphins, turtles and more than 1,500 species of fish can be found in this reef system. Sadly, climate change, pollution, and overfishing threaten this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Conservation initiatives are ongoing to safeguard and preserve this natural beauty for future generations. That's why every year on June 1st, we observe World Reef Awareness Day to raise awareness about the vulnerability of our oceans' natural reef systems. It serves as a reminder to individuals, organisations and businesses to preserve and safeguard these absolute treasures and maintain the balance of nature.
