Calm and cozy. Nature comes alive
Lake Minnewanka is a 142-metre-deep glacial lake, fed by the Cascade River. The First Nations referred to it as ‘Minn-waki’ which translates to ‘Water of the Spirits.’ This scenic spot is located five kilometres from the town of Banff in Alberta. The mammoth mountains across the lake make for a breathtaking backdrop. Visitors immerse themselves in nature by engaging in recreational activities such as canoeing, diving, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. And if you’re there this time of the year, you may just witness the magical Northern Lights.
