Cathedral and Museum Ludwig, Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany
The largest Gothic church in northern Europe is here in Cologne, Germany. After more than 200 years of labour, construction of the Cologne Cathedral stopped in 1473 and it would be another 400 years before the project was completed. In 1976, the Museum Ludwig opened in the cathedral’s shadow, home to a large collection of modern art.
