In northeast Poland, in Olsztyn County, Gmina Barczewo is a mostly rural administrative district with dozens of small towns and villages, including the administrative seat of Barczewo, a town that voted to remain part of Germany after World War I, but reverted to Polish control after the Second World War. More than half of the population lives in rural areas, and based on this photo, we can understand the draw.
