Where history and harmony unite. Last Night of the Proms
The renowned BBC Proms have been harmonising with hearts since their inception in 1895 at London's Royal Albert Hall. Running from July to September, the event offers a diverse array of contemporary and classical compositions. Today is the last night of this eight-week summer season. The second half of the evening gets properly patriotic, with anthems like 'Rule, Britannia!' and 'Land of Hope and Glory', inspiring a joyous sing-along.
Pictured here is the Royal Albert Hall in South Kensington. Built in memory of Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's consort, this iconic venue was envisioned as a tribute to his devotion to the arts and sciences. With its stunning circular design and distinctive domed roof, it has become a symbol of British culture and creativity since its opening in 1871. Beyond its architectural allure, the Royal Albert Hall boasts an impressive list of accolades, including recognition as a Grade I listed building.
