A glimpse of Yoho National Park. Canada Continental Divide, Yoho National Park, Canada
In the province of British Colombia, within Yoho National Park, you can find this glimpse of the Great Divide. Continental divides are elevated natural boundaries that separate a continent’s river systems, and this one, also known as the Continental Divide of the Americas, is the largest and longest in the world.
The Great Divide follows the ridge of the Rocky Mountains and is a remarkable natural landmark that boosts the beauty and diversity of Canada's geography. However, the Canadian portion makes up only a fraction of it. The divide spans almost the whole length of North and South America.
