Info. Escarpment Trail in Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, Michigan, USA
Autumn brings splashes of yellow and orange to Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, United States. At about 25,000 hectares, this is the largest state park in Michigan. It is located near the shore of Lake Superior and is home to a large old-growth forest, waterfalls, rivers and over 140 kilometres of hiking trails.
The Escarpment Trail, which we’re featuring in our photo, is one of the most popular hiking trails in Michigan. It leads up to some of the park's best views for Lake of the Clouds, a beautiful lake in the middle of the Porcupine Mountains.
