Welcome to one of the most photographed places in Canada’s Rocky Mountains. Located in Jasper National Park, Maligne Lake is the park’s largest natural lake at 22 kilometres long. It is known for its azure waters and is surrounded by tall peaks and glaciers. In the middle of the lake, you can see Spirit Island, an image which is recognised around the world. The tree-topped island is very remote and connected to the shore by a thin strip of land, but it can only be reached by boat. There are plenty of activities to do around here, including hiking, fishing and kayaking during the summer, and skiing and snowshoeing in the winter.
