Spot the deer. Deer at dawn
The chital, also known as spotted deer or axis deer, is native to the Indian subcontinent. This species has a beautiful reddish-brown coat which stays the same colour all year round and is decorated with rows of white spots. They avoid harsh sunlight and rest in shaded areas during the midday heat, foraging for food around dawn and dusk, like the ones on our homepage in Kanha National Park in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
