Today is Shivaji Jayanthi, the birth anniversary of the legendary Maratha ruler. Few other rulers from the past have left such an impact that even today they are remembered with reverence and awe. In fact, the Chatrapathi Shivaji Terminal that you see in today’s home page image, was renamed in 1996, in honour of the Maratha warrior-king. It was earlier known as the Victoria Terminus. Similarly, the Mumbai airport too is named after Shivaji.
