Perched on a stretch of sandy beach, the old fishing village of Porthdinllaen, on the north coast of the Llŷn Peninsula, offers spectacular views across to Yr Eifl and Snowdonia mountains. There are only about two dozen buildings in this picturesque harbour village, which at one time was originally intended to be a major port for the Ireland crossing. Now in the care of the National Trust, some attractions here include a lifeboat station and golf course set on the headland.
