Itapuã Lighthouse in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil
Dozens of lighthouses line the shores of Bahia, a coastal state in northeast Brazil. The Itapuã Lighthouse is on the peninsula where the city of Salvador is located, signalling ships approaching on the Atlantic Ocean. The tower is closed to the public, but the surrounding grounds are open for a stroll if you’re spending some time on Itapuã Beach.
