These magnificent creatures, also known as grizzly bears, are an iconic symbol of the untamed wilderness. Impressive in size, adult males can exceed 450 kilograms and reach a standing height of over 3 metres. Their thick, shaggy fur, varying in shades from blonde to dark brown, provides insulation against the harsh Alaskan winter temperatures.
Brown bears are opportunistic omnivores, and their diet comprises berries, fish, small mammals and even carrion. In the park's pristine rivers and lakes, they exhibit extraordinary fishing skills, particularly during the annual salmon runs.
