Nestled within the mesmerizing landscapes of Jasper National Park flows the Sunwapta waterfall. Its serene yet strong cascade adds to the beauty of the picturesque surroundings. This waterfall derives its name from the First Nations language and means "turbulent river." The water drops from a height of approximately 18 metres, giving the national park an enchanting touch. The waterfall gets its water inlet from the Sunwapta River, plummeting down a steep gorge to flow into a magnificent waterfall. Here it’s easy to spot deer, elk, mountain goats and bighorn sheep. One can even catch a glimpse of nearby Pyramid Mountain and Mount Edith Cavell.
