Étretat in Normandy, France
It's not just Dover that does white cliffs. This natural wonder, situated in the charming town of Étretat on the Normandy coast, is as famous in France as Dover's chalk cliffs are in the UK. The dramatic scenery inspired plenty of famous Impressionists, including Claude Monet, who painted the cliffs and arches in the nineteenth century. You can take a stroll along the clifftop and even play a round of golf - there's a spectacular 18-hole course perched above the English Channel.
