Allen's hummingbird
A small and vibrant bird, the Allen’s hummingbird only grows up to 25 millimetres in length when fully mature. These birds are mainly bred in the United States. The male Allen’s hummingbirds have a shiny green back while the rest of their body is rust-coloured. The females look very similar to the males, with an exception of some speckles on their throats and more green colour than rust. These hummingbirds, like most other counterparts of their species have fast metabolism and thus they regularly feed on nectar from flowers and small insects.
