Roman Forum
The Roman Forum, or Forum Romanum, was the centre of day-to-day life in ancient Rome for centuries and home to impressive temples and monuments. Located in the small valley between the Palatine and Capitoline Hills, it was the site of public gatherings, criminal trials, elections and gladiatorial matches. It was also where Mark Antony’s famous funeral speech for Julius Caesar was given, and where Caesar’s body was burned before the public.
