Rather than cut a more direct path by tunnelling through the mountains, the road's designer chose to incorporate numerous loops and hairpin turns, allowing sightseers to travel above ground. After all, if you visit this Mediterranean island paradise, you won't want to miss a thing – just make sure you keep an eye on the road too.
