A cry for independence
This decadent Art Nouveau building in Mexico City is the Palacio de Bellas Artes, a cultural centre which hosts art exhibitions, music, dance performances, and much more. It was completed in 1934 but the original plan had been to open it in time for Mexico’s 100th birthday, in 1910. To get to that story, we’ll have to travel back in time another century, 200 miles from this spot.
