Clapping the carers

The blue heart shining out from Blackpool’s iconic tower in our homepage photo is part of a UK-wide salute to the nation’s health workers on the front line of the coronavirus battle. While millions of people across the UK gathered at their doorways and windows to join a mass round of applause for the NHS last week as part of the #clapforourcarers campaign, many landmarks were lit up in blue for the #lightitblue tribute.
