This poignant flower exhibit of almost 300,000 handmade poppies was on display last year in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea. Created by landscape designer Phillip Johnson, who teamed up with the 5000 Poppies Project, the spectacular tribute garden honoured all those who have died in conflict. The individually hand-knitted and crocheted poppies covered nearly 2,000 sq m (21,000 sq ft) and were crafted by volunteers from a range of cultures and communities, aged two to 102.
