Birth anniversary of the Prophet. The Ajmer Dargah on Milad-un-Nabi.
Ajmer Dargah is the shrine of Sufi Saint Moinuddin Chishti. It is believed that Moghul Emperor Akbar used to make the pilgrimage from Agra to this Dargah on foot, in observance of the vow he had made when he prayed for a son. The shrine now attracts around 150,000 pilgrims every day. That number would be considerably higher today, on Milad-un-Nabi, the Prophet’s birth anniversary.
