Saxon Switzerland National Park, Germany
This national park protects land that joins with other protected wilderness on the other side of the German border in Czechia (aka Czech Republic). Here in Germany, where this photo was taken, it’s called the Saxon Switzerland National Park. Across the border, it’s the Bohemian Switzerland National Park. Both feature immense sandstone cliffs and deep, forested gorges. Hikers can trek from one park to the other via a pedestrian border crossing. And yes, neither park is in Switzerland.
