Grey-headed flying fox

Is a bat with a three-foot wingspan made less intimidating if we call it a flying fox? We think so. Besides, the grey-headed flying fox is an important pollinator and seed distributor, feeding on fruit, nectar and pollen as it flies around the east coast of Australia. At the time of writing, not a single one of them has reverted to human form and purchased a dilapidated estate in the Carpathian Mountains.
