People in the 'Urban Light' sculpture by Chris Burden at LACMA in Los Angeles, California
If you visit the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, you’ll be able to walk through this art installation made from 202 street lights arranged in a tight grid. Artist Chris Burden created the piece after buying a few 1920s-era street lights in a moment of inspiration. He debuted the piece in 2008, and this year the light bulbs were replaced with more efficient LED bulbs designed to emulate the softer incandescent light they originally had. That replacement project was taken on by the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation.
