Sandhill Crane during summer around Thessalon, Ont.
Sandhill Cranes large are, tall birds that can easily be spotted in grasslands and marshes. They live and breed in open habitats and are capable of forming large flocks during migration season. Given their long legs, Sandhill Cranes are graceful dancers. They tend to stretch their wings and leap into the air in an energetic dance.
