Centuries of time in a Delicate Arch. Arches National Park, Utah
Delicate Arch is one of the most popular geological spots in the United States. Out of the 2,000 stone arches in Arches National Park, Utah, it’s the most recognised in the park. The Entrada Sandstone covering the area eroded over millennia to create Delicate Arch, the largest free-standing rock formation arch. You can also spot this famous arch on Utah licence plates and postage stamps. It’s just a five-kilometre hike up to the arch and one of the finest hikes in the park. Every year, close to 1.4 million people visit the Arches National Park to see Delicate Arch in its full glory.
