One of the world's largest populations of African elephants can be found in Amboseli National Park. These magnificent animals can be observed wandering the grassy plains, wetlands, and acacia woodlands of the park. The elephants of Amboseli are renowned for having tusks that can reach lengths of almost three meters. Elephant population issues in the park have included habitat loss, poaching, and conflicts with people. Nonetheless, in recent years, their numbers have been steadily growing as a result of conservation measures.
While at Amboseli, visitors can enjoy seeing elephants in their natural environment and contribute to conservation efforts. The park provides educational programs and guided tours to help spread the word about the value of conserving these amazing animals.
