Postcard from the Canadian Rockies. Peyto Lake
This scenic landscape is of Peyto Lake, nestled in Banff National Park, in the Canadian Rockies. It is known for its iconic shape and the vivid turquoise-blue colour, more apparent during the course of summer. Peyto Lake gets the distinct shade of blue from the glacial rock flour that naturally flows downstream into the lake. Given the natural beauty of the lake and the picturesque backdrop of the Rockies, this site is among the most visited within Banff National Park. To get the most out of your visit and to avoid crowds, it is recommended to arrive earlier than usual. For now, we’ll just enjoy the scenery through today’s homepage image.
