Today we’re taking a trip to Italy, to the west of Lake Garda, where you’ll find this well-known artificial lake. Built between 1960 and 1962, Valvestino dam blocks the waters of the Toscolano stream, a tributary of Lake Garda, and creates the lake featured in today’s image. The barrier is an imposing 122-metre-high concrete structure that creates a reservoir of 52 million cubic metres of water used to produce electricity.
