Cleaning the elephant models at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, California
The dioramas in the Hall of African Mammals at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County need to be cleaned from time to time. Luckily, a photographer was there to get this shot of good old-fashioned elephant vacuuming. The elephants and other animals created for the dioramas are hand-crafted by a team of artists who work to make every diorama in the museum not just educational but realistic and dramatically compelling—a visual story of life on the savannahs.
