Celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna
It’s Janmashtami today and we are taking you to Sri Krishna Temple in Hampi, India. This ancient architecture is dedicated to Lord Balakrishna, the form of Lord Krishna when he was an infant. The temple was built by King Krishnadevaraya in 1513 AD to celebrate the conquest of the eastern kingdom of Udayagiri or Utkala (in the present-day Orissa state). The temple is known for its exquisite carvings and elegant architectural designs. It is also among the Group of Monuments which is currently listed as a part of the World Heritage Monuments by UNESCO.
