Sheep in the Peak District National Park of Derbyshire, England
Don’t be alarmed if you come across a sheep or two while hiking one of the woodland areas of the Peak District National Park. Farming pastures border parts of the park and some are situated in the park’s boundaries - carefully managed to keep native species healthy. But from time to time, sheep from local herds wander off and are spotted in wooded areas like this, perhaps making a weary hiker wonder if they’re seeing things.
