A gateway to winter adventure
About a 2.5-hour drive from the city of Vancouver, Pemberton is easily the gateway to adventurous winter activities for sports enthusiasts. Visitors can indulge in skiing, snowshoeing, winter fishing and snowboarding like the adrenaline junkie in our image here. The invention of the snowboard may date back to the late 1930s. However, it wasn’t until 1981 when skiers Jake Burton Carpenter and Tom Sims created the modern snowboard, most commonly used today.
