This nail mural, known as ‘Metropolis’ is a popular attraction at the Toronto City Hall. Designed by artist David Patridge, this mural consists of more than 100,000 nails and was the winning submission at an art competition held in 1974. Metropolis is a symbolic interpretation of a city with the mass copper nails in the core of the circle reflecting the heart of the city and the widened circles representing the suburban areas.
