Pillars of the desert. The pinnacle of Aussie attractions
Welcome to one of Western Australia’s most unique destinations - the Pinnacles Desert within Nambung National Park. Rising out of the sand are thousands of these eye-catching limestone pillars, which are thought to have formed over millions of years, although it’s a matter of debate as to how they were actually created. Today, visitors are welcome to roam the vast desert plain and admire the drastically varying sizes of the many pinnacles, the tallest of which reach as high as 11.5ft (3.5m). With all sorts of shapes and sizes on display, what will you see?
