Light it up. Sydney gets a little vivid
Taking place over the course of 23 nights in May, Vivid Sydney is an annual festival which celebrates music, ideas and most importantly, light. As a result, eight precincts across Sydney will be illuminated, including Darling Harbour, Luna Park, Chatswood and Taronga Zoo. A two-mile walk that stretches from The Rocks around Circular Quay to the Royal Botanic Gardens is undoubtedly one of the biggest hotspots among locals and tourists, but not before snapping a picture of the iconic Sydney Opera House. This year, Los Angeles-based artist-filmmaker Andrew Thomas Huang has collaborated with choreographer Toogie Barcelo, dancer Jenna Moroni and animation design team Bemo to create ‘Austral Flora Ballet’ – a hypnotic tribute to Australia’s native plant life that, much like today’s image, will be projected on to the building’s sails each evening.
