Record stores are more than just places to buy music. They create communities where music fans can browse titles, discover new sounds and connect with each other. Record Store Day started in 2008 to celebrate the culture of independently owned stores and the people behind them. Since then it’s grown into an international event with special vinyl and CD releases and live performances. Comedy troupe The Mighty Boosh have been announced as this year's Record Store Day UK ambassadors.
