A Shakespeare love story. Following in the footsteps of the Bard
We're taking a step back in time as we wander through the beautiful gardens of Anne Hathaway's Cottage in Warwickshire. It was here where a young William Shakespeare courted his future wife, who lived in the cottage while growing up. The pretty thatched farmhouse stayed in the Hathaway family for hundreds of years until it was acquired by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust in 1892. It's been restored to how it was during Shakespeare's time and contains many original items of family furniture. There's plenty to explore outside, too, including nine acres of charming cottage gardens, orchards, woodland walks and sculpture trails.
