The Children of the Earth monument at North Cape in Norway
We’re celebrating Universal Children’s Day today with this snowy photo of the Children of the Earth monument. The seven bronze casts are replicas of clay reliefs created in 1988 by seven children from around the world. A Norwegian writer named Simon Flem Devold came up with the idea for the project to let children ‘create a lasting expression of youthful understanding, cooperation and joy’.
