Time to choose a pumpkin. In search of a ‘great’ pumpkin

While you might not be able to head out to a pumpkin patch like the one featured today on our shores, you can still grab an orange orb to carve up this Halloween. Or, if you’re like a certain character from the classic Peanuts comics, you still have time to search for the Great Pumpkin. Linus’s quest to glimpse this unseen character is of course featured in ‘It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown,’ the animated Halloween special that first premiered internationally in 1966. Linus believed the Great Pumpkin would deliver toys to children on Halloween night. Some have interpreted the Great Pumpkin as a symbol of faith, and others see the quest as a metaphor for existential crisis. The more you know.
