It’s oh so quiet

How will you celebrate International Literacy Day? We’re highlighting this important observance with a photo of the Long Room – the heart and soul of Trinity College Library in Dublin, Ireland. The college and library were both founded in 1592, and today, Trinity Library serves the University of Dublin as well. Originally the Long Room was just one storey tall, but in 1860, a second level was added to accommodate the growing collection, which includes 200,000 of the library’s oldest books.
