The seafront and promenade of Aberystwyth in Ceredigion, Wales
On the west coast of Wales, nestled between three hills and two beaches, is the seaside town of Aberystwyth. Victorian and Edwardian buildings, including houses, hotels and student accommodation for the town’s university, line the mile-long promenade along the curving seafront. Rising over the northern end of the promenade in this photo is Constitution Hill. A cliff railway takes you to the summit, where there is a notable camera obscura, claimed to be the largest in the world. On a clear day you can see Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales.
