Foot of the falls

We're just seeing the lowermost of multiple tiers that make up this terraced waterfall ensconced in autumnal colors. Though it's a ways out of frame, you can almost hear the Kuang Si Falls' main cascade roaring as it plummets 200 feet into the pools above. Here at the lower levels, the falls are generally gentle and end in calm turquoise pools. If you happen to be here in Laos during the country's hot, humid summer, good news: Some of the pools are open for swimming, so this sightseeing stop comes complete with a nice cooldown.
