'Swiss' mists
A wisp of a waterfall in southeastern Paraguay paints a baby-blue streak against reddish cliffs clad in greenery. The star of our shot is known as Salto Suizo, meaning 'Swiss Falls'—maybe a reference to the many veil-like Alpine plunges found in far-off Switzerland. Such steep drops are far less common in this South American nation mostly defined by plains and marshland. Here in the Ybytyruzú highlands, you'll find several exceptions, but Suizo's twin tiers top them all at about 200 feet in total height.
