Goðafoss Waterfall, Iceland

Iceland's Niagara?
Springing from the massive Vatnajökull ice cap, the 110-mile Skjálfandafljót River tumbles in torrents at several mighty waterfalls. Arguably the most beautiful of these is Goðafoss—meaning either 'waterfall of the gods' or 'waterfall of the chieftain.' Here, the river plunges in a 100-foot-wide horseshoe into aquamarine waters 40 feet below. When they're gushing, the falls make a fine aerial view for fallen warriors being swooped to Valhalla—or for well-piloted drone cams.
