Info. The total lunar eclipse of 4 April 2015, Monument Valley, Utah, USA
Here at Monument Valley, a red-sand desert area on the Arizona-Utah border in the United States, we’re looking at 28 merged photos of the Moon. This includes 26 pictures of its partial phases, plus two layered exposures of the eclipsing Moon at centre. A total lunar eclipse takes place when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon and blocks the Sun's light from reaching the Moon. A total lunar eclipse can last up to nearly two hours and is sometimes called a blood moon due to its reddish colour.
