In observance of Parsi New Year

Parsi New Year is observed by the Parsi community all over the world. Jamshedi Navroj, as it is commonly known in Gujarat and Maharashtra, comes from the two Persian words ‘nav' meaning ‘new’ and ‘roz’ meaning ‘day'. The day could either fall in July or August, as the Parsi Shahenshahi calendar does not take leap years into account. Parsis living in the USA, Pakistan and Middle East however observe the new year in March every year.
