The historic town of Sukhothai, an important metropolitan hub during ancient eras, is one of Thailand's most intriguing destinations. Sukhothai, which means 'the dawn of happiness,' is a splendid example of a thriving community and architectural prowess. Lakes, lawns and lush trees surround the historical park. Here you'll find the remains of an ancient palace and 26 majestic temples, including Wat Si Sawai, which you can see in this image. This temple is one of the park's primary attractions, with its Lopburi architectural design and Hindu influences. The town and the surrounding property are a UNESCO World Heritage site.
